Our Staff

Our goal is to make all of our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each chair-side assistant, sterilization technician and laboratory technician is a registered dental assistant. Our team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care.

We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in dentistry by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars throughout the year. The staff also attends the Iowa Dental Association meeting to stay updated on new products and techniques. Also, our staff chooses to volunteer at the Iowa Mission of Mercy, a 2-day event that provides free dental care to underprivileged Iowans.

Alicia Alicia has been a dental assistant with our office since March 2011. She lives in West Des Moines. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, going to the lake, and spending time with friends and family.

Amanda Amanda has been a dental assistant with our office since August of 2006. She lives in Des Moines. In her free time, she likes to shop, go to the lake, and spend time with all the people she loves. She has a boyfriend, Eric, and a dachshund named Saelyr.

Angela Angela has been a dental assistant for 8 years. She is married and has 2 dogs. She has worked with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since November 2007. She enjoys walking her dogs and the outdoors.

Chelsea Chelsea lives in Waukee. She has worked as a dental assistant with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since August 2005. She has a boyfriend, Nick, and a cat, Frodo. She enjoys grilling out and going to the Ozarks with family.

Clair Clair lives in Ankeny with her husband, Sean, their children, Ross and Summer, and three dogs, Hank, Hitch and Hartie. She has been a dental assistant with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since October of 2004. She truly enjoys all holidays, spending time with her family, and a clean house!

Cynthia Cynthia has been in the dental business for over 20 years as a dental laboratory technician and orthodontic assistant. She has one daughter and one granddaughter.

Darcy Darcy lives in Altoona with her family: husband, Eric, and sons, Kaleb, Carter and Luke. She has worked with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since August of 2006 as a dental assistant. She enjoys going to the lake, spending time with her family and friends, and listening to Bon Jovi!

Jeff Jeff lives in Waukee with his wife and three children. He has worked with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since 2002 and is the practice Office Manager. He enjoys golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Jenna Jenna lives in West Des Moines with her husband, Brett. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and attending high school sporting events that her husband coaches.

Kelly Kelly lives in Ankeny with her husband, Shawn, and daughter, Jaysa. She enjoys reading, boating and playing volleyball in her free time. She has been a dental assistant for eight years and has worked with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since August 2007.

Kim Kim has been a dental assistant with our office since April 2011. She lives in Johnston. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going boating at the lake, shopping and watching Hawkeye football.

Rachel Rachel lives in Waukee with her husband, Dustin, and her two dogs, Rusty and Daisy. She has worked as a receptionist with Drs. Bernhardt and Smith since April 2003. In her spare time, she enjoys walking the dogs and riding their Harley.

Samantha Samantha lives in Granger with her husband, Lance, and their children, Hayden and Wyatt. She loves spending time with their families, scrapbooking, and hanging out with friends. She has worked with the doctors as a dental assistant since May of 2006.

Tara Tara is married and has 2 children, Kendall and Sanderson. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. Tara has been a dental assistant for 6 years.
